What is a micro-museum?

Micro-museums are small ephemeral art and science installations. They are unique in that they are the result of a co-creation exercise that has never been done before; a group of citizens were invited to imagine their own micro-museum, in their neighbourhood! This exercise was carried out in partnership with community organizations from four Montréal boroughs: Concertation Saint-Léonard, Concertation Anjou, the Bon Courage Community Centre in Saint-Laurent and Hoodstock in Montreal-North. Heat islands, composting, underground rivers and the benefits of nature for mental health are the themes developed in cooperation with these local organizations.

In this exhibition, you will discover four micro-museum prototypes, accompanied by photo and video documentation, and the co-creation processes they use. Food for thought when it comes to the role nature plays in our daily lives and communities.
