Seedy Weekend

At the Seedy Weekend, come discover the rich variety of heirloom plants from Quebec and meet over twenty local exhibitors.  Many producers will have flower, herb, medicinal plant, heritage and unusual vegetable seeds to sale.

Workshops, organized seed exchanges and talks on urban agriculture are also on the program. Seedy Weekend is an NDG Food Depot event organized in collaboration with the Friends of the Montréal Botanical Garden and Space for Life.

Program

Friday, February 12

Noon to 6 p.m.: talks and workshops

6 to 8 p.m.: Film screening of The Sower, followed by a discussion led by Patrice Fortier. At the Auditorium of the Botanical Garden.
In the heart of Quebec’s Kamouraska Valley, a unique seed producer is meticulously preserving rare and forgotten cultivars with the goal of breeding the “heirlooms of the future'. He dreams as he gardens and transforms his harvests into art projects.

Saturday, February 13 and Sunday, February 14

10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: talks and workshops

Access to the Seedy Weekend activities is free with paid admission to the Botanical Garden greenhouses.
